Fire Ceremony
When so much is happening in the world, this is a time to come together beside the fire. Share personal and collective prayers. Listen beyond our numbness, restore our collective presence in a time of chaos and confusion.
This is the time to pray for ourselves and for those who are most affected by the destruction of the recent hurricane, the bombs falling in the Middle East, and the political tension in the world around us. Now is the time to go into the earth, to descend into an underground chamber where we can sing and share our stories in solidarity, together. This is the time to kindle a collective fire to illuminate the darkness. This is when we offer songs and stories that resonate through the earth and touch the places in the world where they are most needed.
Join a community council and an earth-based ceremony. Here, there is space to experience solidarity, confusion, grief, rage, and heartfelt presence. This is a place to awaken messages from deep below the surface. Share your stories and bring your instruments. Sing in Spanish, English and traditional languages. Drink cacao, warmed by the fire. Receive a serving of hapè - an amazonian tobacco - which deepens our prayers and presence. In times like these, we are challenged to rekindle all that we hold sacred.
